Fortunately, you can learn to access your body’s healing ability to rebalance your nervous system and lessen the negative effect stress has on your health and happiness. Gain a greater understanding of how mind-body techniques provide a natural, effective way to counterbalance the stress response.

Program Goals: The goal of this educational activity is to provide nurses with an understanding of the negative impact that stress has on mental, emotional and physical health and to explore the use of mind body practices in the management of stress.

Program Objectives:
1. Learner will be able to define stress in his/her own words.
2. Learner will be able to describe the connection between thoughts, emotions and physical health.
3. Learner will be able to name at least two practices that elicit the relaxation response.
